La Bohême Cocktail Bar unfolds as a laid-back spot tucked into the heart of Las Palmas’ charming C.C. Monopol area, right by Plaza Hurtado de Mendoza. It’s particularly well-suited for those who want to enjoy a quality cocktail while soaking up the ambiance of an old city square. The terrace seating places you amid narrow streets with a pleasant view of the historic library building, creating a quietly vibrant backdrop that shifts easily from daytime chill to early evening buzz.

The menu focuses on a wide range of cocktails, with freshly made drinks that appeal to both cocktail newcomers and aficionados looking to explore varied flavors. Prices here lean toward reasonable, making it accessible for locals winding down after work or visitors wanting a relaxed yet genuine local drinking experience. The mix of drinks and some snack options like the local-style wrinkled potatoes add simple but satisfying bites to accompany your glass.

Service tends to be friendly and approachable, with staff showing patience and a willingness to engage, even when language barriers pop up. This adds to the easy-going character of the place, where conversations flow naturally and the pace isn’t rushed.

La Bohême works best as a spot for a chill afternoon drink or early evening pause rather than a late-night nightlife venue. It draws a diverse crowd—locals looking for a quiet corner to relax, small groups keen on a casual evening out, and travelers wanting to soak in authentic Gran Canaria vibes beyond the typical tourist haunts.

  • Ideal for those who enjoy sitting outside, people-watching in a classic Spanish plaza setting
  • Best visited mid-afternoon through early evening when the atmosphere gently unfolds
  • Suitable for casual meetups, quiet conversations, or a laid-back start to an evening out
  • Offers a combination of good cocktails and light food, satisfying without overdoing it

Overall, La Bohême brings together a relaxed outdoor setting, a decent cocktail selection, and approachable service that values simple hospitality in a storied local neighborhood.

Friendly service, the waiter even tried to understand my Spanish attempts. Try the wrinkled potatoes as snack.

Nice place for a drink. At La Boheme you have a wide range of cocktails and food. If you want to score a delicious drink and want to sit on a beautiful square, this is the place to be. You look out on the old library and sit on the terrace between very small streets. The staff are super friendly and happy to help.
